A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you
take it for a spin.

Why isn’t it on the App Store?

Sidecar Mate uses private macOS display APIs to rotate your Sidecar workspace. Apple’s App Store rules require apps to use public APIs, so Sidecar Mate is distributed directly from this website.

How much does Sidecar Mate cost?

Sidecar Mate is a paid app. It costs $10 as a one-time purchase, with all features included and no subscription.

What do I need to use Sidecar Mate?

The current download is for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later, with an iPad that supports Apple Sidecar. Connect the iPad as an extended display. Optional touch input requires macOS 27 and iPadOS 27.

Does it replace Apple Sidecar?

Sidecar Mate works alongside Apple Sidecar. First establish your normal Sidecar connection, then use Sidecar Mate to rotate the workspace shown on your iPad.

Why does it ask for Screen Recording access?

Sidecar Mate uses a live capture of a temporary desktop to display your rotated workspace. Processing stays on your Mac. No audio is captured and no recording is saved.

Can I use my mouse, keyboard, or fingers?

Your Mac’s mouse and keyboard work with the rotated desktop. Optional finger input supports taps, scrolling, and dragging on supported systems, and needs an additional macOS permission. Touch support is experimental, and some apps may respond differently. Apple Pencil pressure and tilt forwarding are not supported.

Will it remember my display setup?

Sidecar Mate remembers each device’s rotation and restores it when that iPad reconnects as an extended display. Quitting restores the original display arrangement while preserving the saved rotation.
